Somatics Movement

This class provides a safe space to express yourself fully through somatic movement. Somatic movement focuses on moving in a way that feels good in your body and is less about what the movement looks like.
Class will begin with a dynamic warm-up and stretch, followed by an overview of somatic movement (ex., body rolls, hip circles, etc.), and then students will be guided to move intuitively to music. Think: rhythmic, fluid, flowy movement; allowing the energy of the music to move through you, releasing anything that no longer serves you and allowing new energy to come through you. Getting in touch with every part of your body.
The intention for the class is to have fun, connect with yourself, release tension from the body, and feel lighter than when you walked into class. Let go of rigidity and surrender to the energy of the music.
All levels welcome, whether you’ve never taken a dance class in your life or you’ve been a dancer your whole life. Come loosen up your body and awaken your playful side.
*Please no street shoes. Bare feet or grippy socks are recommended.
